Summertime is Sangria Blanco Time!

Posted on July 09, 2017 by Darren Hatherell

Summertime is Sangria Blanco Time! Enjoy this Sangria Blanco inspired by the sangria served at the Shangri-la Hotel this summer. It's cold Riesling, pineapple, lemon, Calvados, Pisco and a sweet/salty kick. Perfect for hot luxury hotel patio sipping - now also available on your personal patio in minutes!

To serve Sangria Blanco, follow these steps.

Place a few segments of pineapple and lemon in the bottle and fill the bottle with cold dry riesling. If you intend to drink this right away after creating, add a few ice cubes to the bottle as well to chill all the contents including the fruit.

Create a small sweet salty mix with 1 tsp of salt, 2 tsp of sugar and an ounce of water. Dissolve and pour in the flavour chamber. Add 2 oz of Calvados and 2 oz of Pisco to the flavour chamber. Add a carbonator to the carbonation chamber.

Close up the system and press the button to sparkle!

When complete, place the sealed bottle in the refrigerator until you're ready to open. It is best fully chilled. When you are ready to drink, open the bottle slowly. One technique is to press the button in the center of the top bottle cap and let the bubbles settle, then press it again. After a few times, open the top cap slowly. The combination of the fruit and alcohol can cause a lot of bubbles to form - particularly if the bottle is not perfectly cold. Opening slowly and keeping the bottle cold avoids the drink foaming over.

When ready, open fully and pour. Enjoy sweet/salty/bubbly taste combination. Very suitable for a hot summer afternoon!

Fill the flavour chamber with water and place a carbonator in the carbontion chamber. Close up the system and press the button to sparkle & infuse!

The pressure and agitation infuses the real taste of the fruit right into the water. After the cycle is complete, the bottle is sealed. Place in the refrigerator for later or open now and enjoy!

From Garden to Glass - Watermelon & Basil Sparkling Infusion

Posted on June 26, 2017 by Darren Hatherell

Time to add some taste to your hydration! Infuse the slightly sweet taste of watermelon and the smooth taste of basil. Perfect for summer sipping.

To make this Watermelon Basil Sparkling Water, add some cubes of watermelon and a couple sprigs of basil to your Bonne O bottle.

Top up the bottle to the rim with cold water. Fill the flavour chamber with water and place a carbonator in the carbonation chamber. Close up the system & press the button to sparkle & infuse.

When you remove the sparkled & infused bottle from the system it is fully sealed. The longer you leave the ingredients in the bottle under pressure, the stronger the infused flavours. If the bottle is cold when you open it, fewer bubbles will form on the watermelon. Either refrigerating after making or adding some ice with the ingredients will make the bottle contents cooler. When you're ready, open, pour & enjoy!

5 Tips for Creating the Finest Sparkling Water

Posted on June 14, 2017 by Darren Hatherell

Creating sparkling water is easy with your Bonne O Sparkling Beverage System. Here are 5 tips and a bit of science that will help you get the very finest sparkling water everytime.

First, sparkling your tap water can enhance its 'tap' flavours. Use filtered tap water. Simply keep a Brita or similar filter pitcher in your refrigerator and use it to fill your Bonne O bottles.

Second, the colder the water, the better the water absorbs and retains CO2 gas. Add some ice to your Bonne O bottle. You can add almost anything to your Bonne O bottle and adding ice is an easy way to make your fluid as cold as possible.

Third, while plain sparkling water is healthy, for some people it can get a bit boring. Keep it truly exciting by adding fruit, herbs, vegetables or spices to your Bonne O bottle before sparkling. The pressure will infuse the natural flavours of whatever you put in the bottle into your water. Voila! You have a never-ending supply of exciting, healthy waters to try.

Fourth, it's the science of carbonation that allows your Bonne O system to make very bubbly and infused beverages. It's the controlled system pressure (up to 5 bars) combined with the programmed cycle time that enables the CO2 and flavours absorption. The other factor is temperature - getting the contents of the bottle cold will help the system do its work.

Fifth, your beverage will remain sealed and sparkled in the Bonne O bottle until you are ready to open and enjoy it. The colder the bottle contents when you open it, the longer the bubbles will last and the few bubbles will be created on any fruit or other ingredients in the bottle. Store your prepared Bonne O beverages in the refrigerator until you are ready to open it.

Infuse Sparkling Water with the Real Taste of Raspberries & Lime

Posted on June 05, 2017 by Darren Hatherell

Create real, natural beverages using real fruit. Why do flavoured sparkling waters typically use chemicals rather than real fruit? Because they can't make them fresh in your kitchen. You can use anything from your kitchen or garden to create natural fruit infusions in minutes.

To create a naturally infused Raspberry & Lime Sparkling Water, add a handful of sliced raspberries to the Bonne O bottle along with a slice of lime.

Fill the flavour chamber with water and place a carbonator in the carbonation chamber. Close up the system and press the button to sparkle!

The pressure in the bottle will infuse the real taste of raspberries and lime into your sparkling water in minutes.

When complete the sealed & sparkled bottle can be stored unopened in the refrigerator for later. The longer the fruit remains under pressure in the bottle, the stronger the infused taste. When you're ready open - pour & enjoy!

Get Ready for Summer with a Coconut Pom-Lime Wine Spritzer

Posted on May 29, 2017 by Darren Hatherell

Get ready for summer with a Coconut Pom-Lime White Wine Spritzer! It's light, with a hint of tropical and a sweet / sour mix to keep each sip interesting. Inspired and adapted from the June 2017 edition of Food & Wine Magazine.

There are a few steps to creating this spritzer, none are difficult, but each is important to get the right balance of sweet and sour. Place four teaspoons of sugar, 1/4 cup of water, 1/4 cup of pom juice and the juice of half a lime in a cup. Stir to ensure the sugar is fully dissolved. Pour the mixture into the flavour chamber. Add a carbonator to the carbonation chamber. Fill the bottle 1/3 full with cold coconut water and 2/3 with cold white wine.

Close up the system & sparkle!

When complete, the bottle is sealed & sparkled. You can store it for later in the refrigerator or take it out to your patio & enjoy now. Garnish your glasses with a slice of lime, open & pour!
